Addy,

Adaline Marie I waited a long time for you to come into my life and you are truly everything I hoped for and more. You are kind hearted and smart. You are passionate and beautiful. You are funny and full of joy. I can't imagine my life without you. I can't believe you are already three. Where has the time gone?? We have had three wonderful years together. They haven't always been the easiest of times but even the most challenging moments I wouldn't take away. You have taught me to be a stronger and more patient person and for that I thank you. I love being your mother, it is the greatest birthday gift I could ask for.

And yes after 3 years I am finally okay sharing my birthday with you.

Thanks for coming into our lives and showing us a kind of love we never knew before.

A Happy new year to you and yours

There is something about New Years that I have always loved...I love that feeling of starting over, that hopefulness that comes along with the clock striking midnight. Now this year Shane and I didn't do a whole lot....I guess when you are just days away from having a baby the word party is not much in your vocabulary. We did have a great new year's none the less. It mostly involved drinking yummy hot chocolate with whip (or foop cream as Addy calls it) and sitting on the couch just enjoying each others company. And Shane and I may or may not have had our New Year's kiss while we were already half asleep in bed :)

I hope your New Year's eve was fun and safe! And I wish everyone the happiest and joyful New Year for 2012!

Tomorrow I am having a c-section and we are having this baby! So I guess the next time you hear from me will be for baby B's debut! Can't wait!!

I stumbled opon the cutest Etsy shop today.....ThreeRedApples. I am just loving the cute Embroidery art. A skill I would love to learn but have not had the time or patience to learn. I would like to try something before this little Baby B makes her appearience but if I fail it would be nice to pick something up from this shop.

November is a month of being thankful for the things we may not remember to be thankful for at other times of the year. Take for instance this little baby girl in my belly. I seem to forget sometimes that it took Shane and I a whole 14 months of trying before we saw that lovely pink line on the test. There were so many months of sadness when I wouldn't see anything or feel anything, it was hard for both of us. Through all those months I was always so grateful for the cute girl and handsome boy that we already had...but it was hard because I wanted them to have another sibling, someone to share these crazy parents with.

Here we are months later and I am almost 31 weeks pregnant and I couldn't be happier and more ready to meet this little girl. In the past week or so I have realized that there was a reason that this little girl did not come along sooner. There was a plan for us...a right time. We have been through a lot this year between Shane not working and me with my constant ups and downs. Shane is finally working and I finally feel more stable and more happy than I have in a while. So I know now why we had to wait and I am glad that I know that now....and I am glad that we had to wait.

So after all of this I am here to say that I am thankful for this little girl in my belly and I am thankful for all her little kicks and punches. These kids are the greatest thing that have ever happened to us and I know that more than I know anything else that is for certain.

Fall Wreath

Here's my latest craft...A fall wreath! The base is a styrofoam wreath and then I wrapped it in yarn. Then I attached fall flowers and leafs. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out......and it was fun to make! Next up a halloween wreath!

It's a girl!!

Most people that read this blog are friends with me on Facebook so most people I know have already heard the news that we're having a girl!!

We are so excited about this news! This time we weren't hoping for one sex over the other so I honestly didn't have any guesses about what this tiny bits was. Now that we know that she is a girl I could not be more thrilled. All day I have been imagining my two little girls playing together and loving each other. I have been thinking about what a good big sister Addy is going to be. I have also been thinking about how someday it is going to be absolutely crazy to have two teen aged daughters....we will just hope for the best. Until then I am going to cherish my sweet little girls and enjoy watching them grow into beautiful young ladies. Today I could not be happier!

PS...Shane calls Addy little bits for a nickname and he has already nicknamed this one tiny bits. How cute is that? Daddy's and their little girls are the best!

Plans for the weekend

I love weekends! Who doesn't right? Lately it seems like I don't do much on my weekends but for some reason they still fly by. Shane and I just don't have the funds to do all the fun crazy adventures that some people enjoy during these summer months...but that is okay...you make due with what you got right. As long as I get to get out in the fresh air, maybe enjoy a picnic, and most definitely enjoy the summer nights...I am a happy girl. I have learned to enjoy the little things lately.

With that said I do have two things that I am dying to do this weekend.....

Oh yes! I would love to make a bunch. Maybe I will even make one for Shane and make him wear it (yeah right).

One more thing I am going to do with my BFF this weekend is go see Harry Potter! Oh yes we are Harry Potter nerds and I am so excited!

The baby and the belly

A friend of my told me the other day that I have not blogged about The new Thornton baby yet. Oh I am such a slacker. Despite being a total slacker about the subject we are completely and utterly thrilled about our new addition. I am due January 7th....yes another January baby. Shane and I have decided that we can only have them in January. Here are a couple of ultrasound pictures...sorry the quality isn't the greatest.

This baby was a little mover it was so much fun watching him in action. I called the baby a him because we are both convinced that this baby is a boy....but we won't know for sure for another 6 weeks. We will be excited either way!

This pregnancy has been a lot rougher than my last but it will be worth it in the end. Can't wait!

Random Thoughts

I have been a super bad blogger. I just haven't been motivated enough....and it seems like nothing exciting is going on.

Shane took Addy and I on a drive up the canyon last night and then took us to Taco Time. It was the most enjoyable evening I have had in a really long time. It was such a simple thing but it was so great.

I have been super restless when I get home from work lately. It is like the minute I walk in the door I want something exciting to happen...but it never does. And then I don't know what to do with myself so I just watch TV or read. I really need some excitement in my life. Maybe I should take a class.

I took a nap on Sunday and then I got woken up from that nap like 15 minutes later and I was super pissy about. I told Shane about how mad I was and then he made me smile and then I was okay.

All the plants in my yard are super happy and big and full...and oh I just love it!

We got new neighbors finally and they seem really nice and cool. Such a relief!

Easter 2011

We had a pretty mellow Easter this year. It was a nice relaxing day with family. Addy was pretty excited about the Easter bunny...she kept calling him the "easy" bunny. Pretty cute stuff. I think her favorite part of the day was all the candy. How often do mom and dad let you eat chocolate at 8:30 in the morning?

I am more than slightly addicted to shopping on the internet. Are you? I mean it is one of the most amazing inventions ever, right? Just this week I have already purchased throw pillows, shoes for the little one, and three books for myself...now all of these things were on sale and I must say I am a complete sucker for free shipping (ugh, gets me everytime). My addiction goes deeper than just liking to shop...I also really hate going into stores..with tons of annoying people...around every corner..geting in my way!! I mean shopping in my underwear is so much more awesome. Well I know you are all aware of how cool the internet is but I just wanted to reassure you..thanks for reading. What about you friends, what are you addicted too?

Also for those of you that wear glasses you have to check out this website I've discovered Warby Parker. You just pick 5 pairs of glasses you like, they send them to your house so you can try them on...pick the ones you like send them back and get you prescription in the glasses you choose. Again no going in public! Amazing.

thank goodness for long weekends

Oh I can't even begin to explain how much I love long weekends! Have I told you how much I love President's day....it might be my new favorite holiday. I mean to have a day off in the middle a February and really I don't have to do a dang thing for this holiday! No stress! Just fun! Shane and I are going to go see "Just Go with It." Have you seen it? Is it worth seeing? I have heard it is hilarious! I also have so many things I want to bake...like zucchini bread cookies (doesn't that sound amazing??) and homemade graham crackers. Since Shane is working on Saturday I think I am just going to do it. No more talk...just doing.

What about you? Do you have any fun plans for this long weekend? And please don't tell me you have to work.

It's okay to be mad sometimes

So we didn't end up going to Chipotle for dinner as planned. Turns out tons of other people had this same plan cause holy moly there was a line out the door! So Shane and I went to our favorite little Mexican restaurants El Farol. I have been going to El Farol as long as I can remember...it is one of those cheesy little places with fake flowers and a lot a Mexican decor but you know they have the best nachos and carnitas I have ever had! It was a special little time for us. Addy was pretty good for most of the dinner. At one point during our meal she decided it was a good idea to get under the table and come over to me...fine. Then she decided to go back over to Shane...fine. After she did this about five or six times I finally told her to stop. So she gets under the table again and says "Mom, I am just so mad at you now." Freaking hilarious! It took everything I had to be stern with her and tell her to sit in her seat. She did and then decided she wanted to eat but by this time Shane and I were done eating. Oh well she did eat a little more but on our way home she said "mommy I'm huuungry!!" Needless to say we had to make a little stop at Wendys for some chicken nuggets. Love that girl!

Happy Valentines day friends! Today I went into work late so Shane and I could have a little breakfast and coffee together. It was a wonderful start to the day. The sun is shining and I am happy so it is going to be a great day! Tonight we are going to go to Chipotle for dinner for some BOGO action! For some reason romance comes in the form of a pork taco for us and it makes me happy.

Addy and I had a really great birthday this year. We went and picked out some new toys for Addy, went to lunch with our friends, took a nap (Addy not me), and then went and had a wonderful dinner with family. Addy loves being two I think. January Blues

Although January is my birthday month I always forget what a complete downer this month is. Right now it is totally crappy looking outside....muddy, nasty, wet, cold. I would just be happier if it would snow snow snow and then be spring. Done and done I tell you. I am making it through by drinking lots of hot tea and spending a lot of time listening to amazing music....we now have Pandora on our blueray player and I never have known such bliss....I spent almost the entire day yesterday listening to Billie Holiday and Etta James. I did rearrange our living room this weekend and I have to say I am quite pleased with it. I am looking forward to mine and Addy's birthdays on the 27th but after that this yuckiness can just go away. Forever.

Guess what? I still haven't taken family pictures for my Christmas cards! I really want to send out cards this year. I going to do it. So if you get your card after Christmas...oops sorry.

I am almost done with my shopping. I still need to bake a bunch of stuff and then I will get to relax right? I am really excited for Christmas this year though which is not like me...I usually dislike Christmas. I think having a almost two year old is helping. Oh she is getting lots of good stuff. Oh and so is Luke. There is going to be some smiles Christmas morning let me tell ya.

Shane and I are not really buying each other gifts this year because we really want an ipod. Oh and my parents are buying us a dishwasher for Christmas....best. parents. ever. I really really hate doing dishes so this really is the best gift any could ever get me.

Today I am thankful for Kassy! Kassy is my best friend. We have been best friends for about 20 years now! Holy crap....am I really old enough to have a friend for that long?? Today is Kassy's birthday! She's old. She is like the sister I never had and I love her dearly. She is a total nerd and I love her even more for that. I just know we will be friends forever and that makes me happy!

Halloween!!

We had a wonderful Halloween this year! Addy and Luke loved it! We did all the fun stuff decorated cookies, carved pumpkins, baked pumpkin bread, watched "The Corpse Bride" and, of coarse tricker treated. We only took Addy to my parents house and then over to my Brother's house but she loved every minute of it. Luke on the other hand went with his best friend and they scored big time on the candy! Below are some pictures of our Halloween fun. Addy in her Gnome costume and Luke in his orphan costume. And Shane in his beard. And one of Luke and I very intensely decorating cookies!

I finally had a chance to take down the rest of my decorations today so now the holidays can officially begin. I am super excited for the holidays this year! I think Addy and Luke are going to love it!

Oh and today I am thankful for a warm house that is full of the smell of freshly baked banana bread.

where I have to remind myself of all the things that I should be grateful for. I woke in a fine mood. On my way to work I sent Shane a text that said "Addy was being such a sweetie! I love being her mom!" True statement. She makes me happy! And then I got to work and I turned into an uber-grouch! What? I know I'm at work so that is why I am grouchy. Wrong! Usually work doesn't really make me that grumpy. It is a combination of things really....some I would rather not talk about and others whatever I should just get over being blind in one eye for the day. Blah! November is the month to remember to be thankful so that is what I am trying to do the rest of the day. Be thankful!!!

Today I am thankful that I have such wonderful and funny children. That make me want to live each and everyday....weather I am blind in one eye or not.

Oh for the love of puppies!!

On Monday it was cold and rainy and last Friday Sally (puppy #1) got spayed so for these reason I felt I had no other choice than to leave the puppies in the house. Alone. For about 8 hours. I could just tell you what they did but I think that it is best to just show you.

Needless to say we have had to find other alternatives on where to leave the dogs on cold, wet days. Lesson learned. I still love them and I did not kill them :)

PS. I was really sick of that chair and I want a new one anyway. So lets just look at this as a good thing. Right?

Just a funny little story

Yesterday it snowed and snowed and then it snowed some more. Needless to say when Addy and I walked out the front door yesterday morning there was quit a bit of snow on the ground. Well Addy being as cute as she is gasped and said "oh bubbles!!" It was so funny! She thought that the snow was a bunch of bubbles! And even though I kept telling her all day that it was snow she still insisted that it was bubbles. Oh well it is cute!

On another note Addy got to dress up in her garden gnome costume today and I just have to say she looked adorable! I will post some pictures later but for now you just have to trust that she looked just cute!

It was time to say goodbye

On Monday this week we had to say good bye to our old girl Izzy. She was the sweetest dog that never did listen. Even at ten years old she still pottied in the house. But we loved her still and it was hard to let her go! On Monday night Addy asked where Izzy was while we were eating dinner (Izzy was always there to pick up the scraps) and I told her she went to the moon....Addy loves the moon so I knew she would know what I was talking about if I said that. Later that night Addy said "Izzy...moon??" and I said "yep that is right." Luke had a hard time because Izzy has been here his entire life but he understood that she was in pain and it was time. We miss her and the house in not the same without her but now she is with her best friend Dignon. I'm sure they are having the time of the life! Let me tell you losing two dogs in one year has been the hardest thing this family has ever had to go through and I am glad we won't have to go through this pain for a long time.

We now have just Sally and Rosco and they are great fun and we love them so so much. I know our family will always be missing the original two but it is nice to know that we have two others that love us like they did.

I know this is the question you have been asking yourselves. Where has Ariel been and why has she not blogged for a month? Who knows really? I've been around cooking, cleaning, baking, being a mom and wife, and oh and I also do that thing called going to work. I have not posted pictures in a really long time so here you have it....pictures of the kid and one of the new pup. Aren't they both the cutest??

On another note I am pretty stoked that it is finally fall and I can wear my sweaters and what not. It is beautiful and perfect outside most days and I wish this weather would never ever end. I am excited for halloween! We decorated and I just want to decorate more! Today we went to the DI (thrift store) and bought Luke his costume, he is going to be an orphan, It is going to be pretty rad! I hope everyone is enjoying fall as much as I am! Enjoy it while you can for it will be gone before we can say "Harry Potter." I think I said that because the new Harry Potter movie comes out in a month...or I am just in a weird mood. Who knows?

Here are some pictures from our family camping trip last weekend. We had sooooo much fun! I loved camping with the kids they were both awesome. Addy slept in the tent great.....we all did including the two dogs!! We ended up taking our old dog Izzy with us. She is super old and probably shouldn't go camping anymore but she had a lot of fun I think....the first thing she did was go swimming. Sally our new dog was awesome! Love her! For those of you that don't know we recently had to put our other dog to sleep so it was really hard not having him there camping with us. Dignon was the best camper dog ever! We miss him too much! Anywhos we had a lot of fun and would love to go camping again soon.

Do you ever look at back at your blog posts? My friend Amber was doing that today and it made me want to do it. I went through and looked at all my posts over the last couple of years. It is crazy how much we go through in life and how much our lives can change in just a couple of years. I love my life and I love my little family and I am glad that I started this little blog so I can look back at our lives and remember all the good times.

Summer is not over

On Saturday my mom said to me "After the 24th summer is over." And you know what I said to her "SHUT UP mom!" She laughed. I don't think so. We still have August and August is still freaking hot. Summer still. Still plenty of time for camping, hiking and picnics.

Speaking of picnics. Shane and I had a date night on Friday and I packed us a picnic and we headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon and went on hike and enjoyed a wonderful view of the water. I will post some pictures later.

Last night Addy was running around with one flip flop on....because that is what she does. And she fell and hit her little nose on the sidewalk. She got a bloody nose and a scrape. Seriously that little girl gets hurt once a day. My mom is a spaz...I'm a spaz...I fear Addy got the spaz gene. Sad.

Well we are enjoying summer. And no it is NOT over! not matter what my ma says.

I have only just recently discovered that I like my hot dogs like the one pictured above. They have to have it all....onions, pickle relish, mustard but no ketchup, I also really like cheese on them. I would way rather have them grilled than boiled. Since I have discovered that I love hot dogs this way I now love hot dogs! So I am curious do you like hot dogs and if so how do you like em? It seems everyone is a little different.

I know I am weird posting about hot dogs but I'm weird so whatever.

Learning to talk

I think Addy learning how to talk has been my most favorite stage so far. It is so funny and amazing all at the same time. She literally tries to repeat everything we say. She can say "Izzy" that is our big dog but she won't say any of the other dog's names. I think she thinks they're all named Izzy. And as far as the cats go she calls them all "kitty." I think my favorite is instead of saying "what's that" she says "wheesh." Awesome. Shane and I seriously walk around the house all day saying "wheesh" to each other and every time we laugh. She says tons of other things too and I swear she learns something new to say everyday. Next week I am sure she will be speaking in sentences. I cannot believe how incredibly smart she is. She blows my mind everyday!!

Being a mom is amazingly awesome. Love it more than anything else.

Arts Fest

This weekend Shane, Addy, and I went to the Utah's Art Festival. It was pretty darn wonderful. We have not been in a few years...because I hate crowds so much, but this year I put on my big girl panties and tried not to let the crowd of people bother me too much. Addy did great for the 3 hours we were there. Such a wonderful little girl I have. We bought 4 pieces of art and I am so happy about them. I seriously can't stop thinking about them. I love art...makes me smile. Now where to hang them?? Did anyone else go enjoy this wonderful event??

camping and happy 100th post!!

The first weekend of June Shane and I went camping with a group of friends. It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Unfortunately our trip was cut short because of our sick little girl but it was still great to get out of the city even just for a short time. We went with six of our friends and we had five dogs total with us. Whoa! I love camping with dogs it's the best. We ate lots of yummy food. For some reason I eat so much when I am camping...love it. We have had a rough week at the Thornton house. I think we are finally through the rough patch though *insert sigh of relieve here*

Well Saturday Shane and I went camping with some friends...no kids! Awesome :)(I will post some pictures later). We had a lot of fun and the weather was awesome. Then on Sunday morning when I woke up I got a call from my dad saying Addy was super sick and had a fever and we needed to come home. Well of course this put me in total panic mode so we hurried and ate breakfast packed up and headed home:( Once we got home Addy didn't seem that bad so we played and had lunch then she had her nap. Well in the mean time Shane started feeling really sick and took a nap too. Later that night Shane started getting the chills and had a fever. So of course the poor guy could not help with the little one. Ahh!

I tried putting Addy to bed that night and she didn't go to sleep until 11:30!! Which is way late for her. Then at 3:30am I could hear her breathing really heavy so I went and checked on her and took her temperature and the thermometer read 104 degrees!! Crap! It scared us so bad so we rushed up to Primary children's hospital. It turns out she has a virus and an ear infection. Well we didn't get home until 6:30 and I had to hurry and get ready and go to work. Awesome. Shane stayed home with Addy but he was still so sick. I ended up going home early that day but I couldn't nap because I just can't...not a napper.

Then on Monday night she woke up in the night and was up for about two hours. I was a zombie yesterday! Finally last night I went to bed early and got a good night sleep. I feel like a whole new person today. Whew! I knew motherhood would be hard at times but not this hard. Someone should warn you that sick babies are really difficult. I am just glad our little Addy is feeling better oh and dad is feeling better too. And mom is awesome!

Update on Leonard and Easter

So I convinced Shane into giving Leonard a second chance. All is going well so far. But now poor Leonard looks like an Avatar....I don't know what happened to him but his forehead and his nose are swollen and seriously....AVATAR! As of this morning the swelling started to go down but it was so weird while it lasted. I tried taking a picture of how weird he looked but you really couldn't tell in the picture.

We had a good Easter. Poor little Addy was sick all weekend but she still had fun. Luke got everything he wanted I think so that is good. We had a little Easter egg hunt for the kids at our house and it was so fun watching them find the eggs. Addy was content with just an egg for each hand so Luke scored big on the hunt. After we took Luke to his mom's house we went home and I made frosting for my awesome carrot cake I made and then it was on to my parent's house. We some yummy ham and had a nice time.....oh and everyone loved my cake!!

I have this cat his name is Leonard. I like this cat I really do. I am a huge animal lover HUGE!! Well this cat Leonard is a boy and he sprays even though he is fixed. Argh! Well usually the spraying goes on outside but as of late it has happened in our garage...gross....and this morning it happened in our office!! What to do with this cat. Well Shane doesn't exactly love Leonard and needless to say Shane was very mad when this happened this morning. Well and long story short Shane wants me to get rid of Leo. I can't I just can't it is against my moral standards. I guess if I can find a good home for him I will feel better about it but I can't just take him to the pound.

Well folks if anyone wants a 5 year old male cat that is very nice and great with kids and dogs please let me know.

-Summer!!! I want to swim, ride bikes, pretty much never wear shoes, and go CAMPING

-Yard work and gardening. I worked in the yard this weekend and it was so wonderful. I have plans on planting an actual garden this year and I am pretty excited about it.

-Getting a new tattoo. I don't have an appointment scheduled but I am itching for a new one.

-playing outside with my little lady. She already loves it and I want to do it more (um I think that we will not be spending much time in the house this summer....can you tell)

-hopefully going to Las Vegas or somewhere this summer or fall.

This is kind of a post for me. I forget to write things down that Addy has done and I just don't want to forget later in life. On Friday February 19th Addy took her first couple of steps! Whoa so awesome. Since then she tried a couple more times. I swear she is going to totally mobile in no time.

Another thing. She loves loves headbands. She takes them off my headbands of my head and tries to put them on her head. When I put them on her she gets this look on her face like she is just so proud of herself. I really just can't get enough of that girl. She is the best ever.

Today we did Addy's first birthday party and after many nervous breakdowns from a very stressed mother the party happened and it was a lot of fun. Addy had a really good time I think.....she was a little show off during present time. I loved so much I could have cried but I held back the tears. Thanks to all my wonderful friends and family for coming and making the party a success.

Yesterday was mine and Addy's birthday. It was such a nice day. I had the day off so that was nice. Addy slept in which means I got to shower and get ready on my own...wonderful! Then we went to Tracy's house so she could take pictures of Addy. Addy wouldn't really smile much so that was a bummer but it was still fun to hang out for a little while. Then we went to lunch with my momma at the cafe that is in Nordstrom...it was really good I would go back for sure. I hung out with my parents and brother the rest of the afternoon until Shane got off work. Shane, Luke, Addy, and I went to dinner and then went and got dessert. After dropping Luke off at his mom's house we went home put Addy to bed and Shane and I sat around and talked until about midnight. I know to some it doesn't sound like that exciting of a day but it was just a perfect day for me. I got to spend the whole day with the people I care about most and really that is all I need to have a good day.

You know what melts my heart......The way my adorable little girl gives hugs and kisses now! When I ask her for a kiss she will give me one and when she is excited to see me or when I get her out of the bath she gives me the biggest hugs! Love it love it love it! I seriously love being a mom...it is just so nice to know someone loves me that much.

Now you are probably asking yourself why are there no pictures of this adorable little girl....well I just got a new computer at home so I will post picture really soon. another year

Well the holidays are over and I am relieved! Most may not know for the last month my kitchen has been torn apart because Shane was putting in a new floor. Well the floor is done and it looks awesome! So the holidays are over and my kitchen is all in one piece again and I feel like I can finally breath again and it feels wonderful. I think that 2010 is going to bring some new exciting adventures for the Thorntons and I am ready!

Addy turns 1 on the 27th and I turn 26 on the 27th! I am super excited to plan her birthday party I think that it will be a blast. I was making a list of everything I need to before the party though and boy do I have my work cut out for me but it is still going to be fun.

Folks this is going to be a good year I can just tell.

Don't be scared! but Christmas is only a week away.......1 2 3 4 5 6 7 days away! Oh geez. So I thought I was closer to being done but let me tell you...I have to buy my parents a gift, my brother and his girlfriend a gift and I still have get a couple more things for Luke! Okay so that is the shopping but then I have the wrapping...which I do not really enjoy too much....oh and then wait did someone just say "um Ariel your Christmas tree is still not up" Wha!?? See busy weekend for me!

Luke said something so funny to me the other day and I just need to share.

Luke: Ariel don't you think that Santa has to use people's bathrooms sometimes.

ME: Um I guess so, I have never really thought about it.

L: Well 'cause I was just thinking that he eats like a million cookies and drinks a lot of milk so how could he not ever have to go the bathroom on his trip.

M: Well that is a very good point.

So I think when I have him put out cookies and milk (and carrots for the reindeer) for Santa maybe I should have him write a note telling him he can use out bathroom if he needs to. Kids are so funny.

So things are looking up just a bit.....They found Shane's van! Yay! The people took about $1500 dollars worth of tools that they had to go and replace last night. That is a lot better than what we thought they were going to have to pay. Now if everthing else could go good the rest of this year that would be wonderful. I am sorry about the downer post yesterday I will try to be more positive from now on. :)

I feel as if there is something that is holding me back from being fully happy lately. I have wonderful kids, an amazing husband, a good job, and great parents and brother so why do the bad things that happen over take all that happiness. Blah! I really just want to crawl in a hole until this year is over!! Besides the birth of my wonderful daughter this year has been a royal pain in my rear!!

This morning Shane's work van was stolen from our house and it is so horrible! Why do people have to suck so much? There was so much money worth of tools in that van and now Shane has nothing to drive. Really? Could things possibly get any worse.

I am not a bad person so I ask you world what did I do to deserve all the misfortunes in my life lately? I am not much of a complainer but I just have to let it all out before I explode! Please please let something good happen before I give up on all hope!

Where have I been? I dunno. What has been going on? Lots of little things but nothing too exciting to blog about. I am not going to give a list of excuses for being absent so long from the old blogaroo. So deal with it. I hope someone still looks at the blog......anyone......hello?

I am super excited for Thanksgiving because well I love to eat and be lazy. That sounds bad but it is true. It is nice to spend the day with the people I love most in this world and eat the food I love most in the world. I never really get excited for Christmas but for some odd reason this year I am. Maybe it is having a new baby or maybe I have just had a change of heart but whatever it is I am loving the holidays this year and no one can stop me. I even sing Christmas music to Addy while I am trying to get her to sleep at night. Silly me.

The kids are both doing good. Luke is doing great in school and he is a great kid we are lucky. Addy is going to be 10 months next week. Crazy! She is going to be a year before we know it. She is a wonderful baby and I love love love her. I would post a new picture of her but my computer at home is broken so I am forced to update this blog while at work....shhh don't tell.

All and all things are good for us. Shane is putting in a new floor in our kitchen and I am excited about that, but our house is in a total shambles for the time being. Oh well it will be worth it.

Last night I took Luke to football orientation. He was so super excited! It was a lot of fun, but I realized how small Luke is. He is the smallest one on his team, it was kind of funny. I think that means he is going to be the fastest one on the team. Right?? We got his jersey and flags and then they practiced for a bit. It was a lot of fun. They decided on the team name they are the enchiladas. Cute!

As a side note as I was driving Luke back to his mom's house I got pulled over and got a speeding ticket. Crap I hate that! It is $90! Whoa speeding tickets have gone up in price since the last one I got like 10 years ago. Stupid stupid stupid. There are a lot better things I would like to spend $90 on. Oh well.

Today is your 8th birthday. You have been a big part of my life since you were two years old. I still remember the little cubby two year old that was crazy but so fun. I feel bad that I have been such a slacker on blogging! No posts since July really what is my problem.....

I am super excited for September. September is my favorite month of the whole year. I love the crisp air in the mornings, the leaves changing colors, fall clothes (yay another excuse to buy clothes), and just the smell of fall. I feel sad because I feel like this summer we got riped off an entire month...stupid June all rainy but I am happy for my favorite season.

Addy is going to be 7 months this week and I really can't believe it. She is going to be a year before I know it and I don't want that to happen. When are they going to figure out how to make our babies stay babies forever. dang! She is almost crawling and it is so fun. She can almost wave and I think she says baba (bottle). She is eating her solid food and with every new food it is a new adventure. Oh the faces that little girl makes...I tell you I will never get tired of them.

I finally got my tattoo colored in last night. Ummm my leg hurts. Tell me why I always put myself through that pain. It looks really good though I will post pictures soon.

I think that is really all of my updates for now. Maybe I will get really motivated and post pictures this week!

Oh one more thing...Luke started the 3rd grade today! What the crap! I remember the 3rd grade really well and it is crazy to me that he is going to be a 3rd grader. He is also turning 8 on Saturday. He is so so excited for his birthday. We are going to Boondocks on Friday and then Saturday he is having a party with his best friends. So fun! I think I might be getting old though and I am not sure how I feel about that. Sometimes I still feel like a kid so how is it that I have kids! Crazy!

Wow today my little baby is 6 months! What!? Where did the time go? I can't believe that only a little while ago I had this baby that didn't do anything but sleep, eat, cry, and poop. Now I have this little baby that does so much, so many new things and I just get to sit back and watch it all happen. Okay well I am not just sitting back and watching, but you know what I mean. Being a mom is an amazing thing it is awesome to watch this lttle person grow and learn more and more each day.

She babbles, rolls, smiles, laughs, plays, eats almost real food and so much more. By almost real food I mean she eats rice cereal and I tried it and it is not good! She went for her 6 month check-up today and he said I could go ahead and let her try some veggies, so we are trying it tonight! I excited! She now weighs a whopping 18 lbs. She has 4 teeth. I could just go on and on about how amazing she is but I won't. I will just leave you with a few pictures of her cuteness.

I just need to vent for a minute. My neighbors are having a new garage built which is great, good for them. I really am a pretty tolerent person I promise, but I can only take so much. The construction workers doing the work are stupid! I know that is rude and immature to call someone stupid but I just did so deal with it. This morning at 6:00 I could hear pounding outside my window, I look out and there they are working. 6:00AM REALLY! I have a sleeping baby and I didn't go to bed 'til 12:00. AHH! The other day they were putting some gravel down before they laid the concrete and there was a huge pile of gravel in front of my house. Fine I can deal with that, whatever. But then at the end of the day they left a bunch of it in the grass of my parking strip and a bunch in the road in front of my house. Now that is just rude! Have some common courtesy this is a residential neighborhood! Whatever it will all be over soon, it is just annoying for now.

Mini road trip

Yesterday....July 11th.....Shane, Addy, and I took a mini roadtrip to Sunnyside, UT. Where is Sunnyside, UT you ask? Well it is Southeast of Salt Lake. It is about 20 miles past Price. And why did we go to Sunnyside? which is a very small and run down town by the way. Well we went there to see a car show. And I will tell you it was worth the drive. Shane and I both love hot and rat rods and that is all that was there. It was killer!

Here is my list of requirments to have an excellent roadtrip.

-You must eat so much junk food you want to puke when you finally make it to your destination. On my mini trip yesterday I ate peanuts, lemonheads, fruitcrisp bar, banana, and a wendys cheeseburger and fries. On the way back home I ate more lemonheads, gradettos, m&m's, beef jerky (I only allow myself beef jerky on roadtrips so had to have it) and so much ice tea it is ridiculous. I swear I did not want anymore food the rest of the day. Blah!

-You must have fun! No whining about how long it is taking to get there.

-You must enjoy the weird people that live in the smalls towns you stop in. Shane and I get all sorts of weird looks when we go into these small towns. We both have tattoos so they automatically think we are bad news. It is fun!

Since this is about as close as I am getting to a vacation you get a long post. Sorry.

On the 3rd of July we went and saw fireworks at Granite. It was a lot of fun and Addy did really well. I thought she would be scared but she wasn't at all just amazed by the giant light flashing above her. On the actual 4th we really didn't do anything, we just hung out an BBQed.

Today I have been super lazy, mostly because I feel like absolute crap. I have a really bad sinus infection and my ears feel like they are clogged and my brain feels like it is sloshing around in my skull.....so I have been laying in bed pretty much all day, luckily Addy has been pretty lazy too so that allows mom to be lazy. :)

Besides complaining about my sickness I wanted to say happy fathers day to my wonderful Father. For those of you that don't know I am a huge daddy's girl I always have been I am still and I am 25 years old. My dad is the best (I know everyone says that, but mine really is). He helps us so much with every thing, he is pretty much the smartest person I know, and he is a wonderful grandfather. I love you dad, my life would not be the same without you!

I would like to say happy father's day to my wonderful husband too. He is a wonderful father to both of his kids! He is so fun and playful with the kids and they both love it. He is a big softy and Luke knows that as long as he is with his dad he can pretty much get away with anything. He helps me so much with Addy and he was so good to me when I was pregnant with her and for that I think he deserves father of the year, because putting up with pregnant Ariel was not easy! I love you Shane you are a wonderful father and husband!

This last weekend was a busy one but a fun one....sometimes it is fun to be busy. Friday when I got home from work we hung out for a while then Luke got a lesson in lawn mowing.....

Then on Saturday we went to Luke's baseball game...they kicked butt. Then we went to the family reunion and my grandparents house. It was great I got to see a lot of my family that I haven't seen in ages.

On Monday I took little Addy cakes to the doctor for her 4 month appointment. She is 16 pounds and 27 inches now! Holy crap she is a big girl, it's no wonder my muscles are getting so large! Everything was great except for the dreaded shots, everytime she has to get those I just die inside. The doctor said we could give her rice cereal if we want to, so I think I am going to try it tonight. Wish me luck! i am sure she will love it since she loves to eat more than anything else.....well except for her wonderful mother!

This morning I discovered my first gray hair! What the crap! I am just not okay with that. And no you can't see it so don't even ask. I didn't pull the thing out yet because I had to show Shane what he has done to me! I know in the past I have given some of my friends crap for having gray hairs (I won't mention any names, you know who you are) and for that I apologize. This has been a very stressful year for me and I guess now that I am a mother I have that much more to stress about, but a gray hair come on. I guess this is God's way of telling me that I am getting old and I need to slow down and not party so much. I have been really into classic movies lately....my Netflix quene is full to the gills with classics. The most recent watch was Dial M for Murder....it was wonderful. I love the vintage style....I wish I could take myself and put me in 1954. It just makes me so happy just thinking about it.

Nothing too exciting has been going on with us lately so I haven't posted in a couple of weeks. Shane has been working on his truck a lot and I have been working in the yard a lot and of course taking care of little Addy. Addy got her first two teeth so she hasn't been a very happy camper lately, but she sure does look cute with teeth. Luke has been playing baseball and doing awesome and he is out of school for the summer in two weeks...lucky! Tomorrow is our two year wedding anniversary but I will post something for that later. So that is all that is going on with us so here are some pictures to make the post a little more exciting!

Today is not only Mother's Day....happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! It is also my mommy's birthday. I won't say how old she is because I don't think she would appreciate that too much, but I will say that I love that woman dearly. She is the best mother in the whole wide land to me. She is kind, caring, loving, and the best gosh darn grandma this side the Mississippi. So mom I say happy birthday to you and happy mother's day too!

Also Lets not forget yesterday was my dear husband's birthday. It was half a good day and half a bad day. We won't talk about the bad day part just the good. We went and had sushi..yummmmmmm, then we had brownies for dessert it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed hanging out with the love of my life. Shane you are an amazing, hard working husband without you I would be absolutely lost, you are the best dad ever....I see the way your kids look at you and you can tell they both absolutely adore you. Happy birthday my sweet!

We had yummy tacos over at mom and dad's house tonight for the birthdays and for mothers day and on Shane's request we had yummy pie, hence the title of the post. Great weekend, yummy pie, good memories!

Losing some LBs.........

I am so super excited....yesterday I weighed myself and I lost another 3lbs. I weigh less than before I was pregnant! I am so proud of myself...I have been eating a lot better and I don't drink soda anymore...only water and tea for me. I have been on a salad kick lately so I thinks that helps. I really feel great I have way more energy than I have in the past and I feel awesome! Okay I am done I just had to share my happiness with you all.

And P.S. Happy Cinco Day Mayo! Eat a Mexican....oh wait eat some Mexican food!

I saw this on my friend Tracy's blog and it sounded like fun so I am doing it....

1) When I was pregnant with Addy I knew I would love her but I didn't know how much I could love her. I never knew I could love, worry, and care for another person so much. I can honestly say it is the most wonderful and amazing feeling in the world.

2) I have really bad social anxiety. I am fine when I am with friends or at work but when I am with people I don't know I ball up and freak out a little inside. I don't like when strangers try to talk to me it makes me really nervous and I don't ever know what to say. I am terrible at small talk.

3) I don't like when my family give my their opinions about what I should do with my baby. They say things like she is too hot take her jacket off, she is too cold put her jacket on, she doesn't like that headband on. It drives me nuts! I think I can decide what is best for my little lady.

4) The only thing Shane and I fight about is where and what to eat for dinner. It is so stupid. We both are very passioniate about food so why do we have so much trouble when it comes to dinner. Ahhhh!

5) I really hope that Addy always has a close realtionship with her grandparents. I was never really close to my grandparents growing up, I really only saw them on holidays and other special occasions. Now that I am older I talk to them more but I feel like I missed out on a lot of years that I can't make up. I don't want Addy to have those same feelings we she is an adult so I would like her to always be close to my parents.

6) If someone gave me a million dollars I would spend a good portion of that money on new clothes. I really dislike most of my clothes and I would like it if I could just buy all new ones and start my wardrobe all over again that would be awesome.

7) I am trying really hard not to fatty and junky food but it is so hard. Why does all the fatty food taste so good. I want to be the same size I was in high school. I may never be that little again but it would be nice if I could lose some weight. I really don't like to exercise all that well and I need to work on that and that would help me lose some of this extra weight I am carrying around. I am going to work on that.

8) I really want to go back to school. I love school! I love learning new things and feeling like I am doing something with my life. So I have decided that I am going back to school in the fall.

9) I wish I was more crafty and creative. I look at other people's blogs and see all the cool things they make and it makes me jealous. I know I have a creative part of me I am just having trouble finding it inside of me. That is something I need to work on.

10) I should be doing work right now but instead I am working on this post and since I can't think of anything else I am going back to work.

I would like it if all my friends would do this on their blogs because I love learning new things about people. So do it!

The 25th was my blogs 1st birthday! Happy birthday blog. At first the idea of a blog was silly to me and I did not update it much. I got talked into the whole blog thing by friends, thanks Tracy and Amber.....over this past year I have come to love you blog and really enjoy you. I am in the best mood today! There is not really any particular reason for my chipper mood, it's just a good dasy I guess! Really it's the little things that are making me happy today like the rain, yummy warm tea, a really wonderful salad for lunch, my happy little girl, and getting things done. I just wanted to share my good mood with those in the blogging world so there I shared.

I wanted to share a funny thing Luke said before we went to dinner last night. We went to dinner at La Frontera last night and every time we go there with Luke there is always police eating there....well we always tease Luke and tell him the police are after him and that is why they are there....so last night as we pull in the parking lot Luke says "I think when I had to get stitches in my chin they put a microchip in there so the police always know where I am." What a crazy imagination that kid has. I just thought it was a funny and paranoid thing to say..made me laugh. Kids!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth day! I have always loved Earth Day, when I was a kid we would always do really exciting things on this day at school one year we even planted a tree at my school and it is still there today. So this Earth day I have decided I need to do some little things to help our Earth. First I have decided to start bringing a bowl to work to eat my morning oatmeal in instead of using a Styrofoam cup and throwing it away, next I have decided to bring a reusable water bottle to work too. They are just little things, but I think that it is the little things that count. I have been using my canvas bags at the grocery store for a few years now and I actually have a big collection of bags to use now. So show the Earth how much you love it by doing something for it! YEAH for Earth!

Today is my first official day back to work. My time off flew by....I can't believe how fast three months can go by. I thought it would be really hard to come back to work but it really hasn't been that bad. I fought back tears when I dropped little Addy cakes off today. I think this is going to be good and it is nice to have some adults to talk to again. I guess I missed all my friends at work more than I realized. And another plus is that I will have money again this last month has been kind of rough. So all and all things aren't that bad, but ask me again in a week and we will see.

Why am I so grumpy today? I really have no reason to be, but I keep snapping at Shane. Ahhhhh!

My cat keeps drinking out of the fish bowl...Is this safe? He doesn't even know there is a fish in the bowl he just likes to drink out of the fish bowl instead of his water dish.

I can't believe I have to go back to work in like 10 days! I am so depressed about it. :(

I am excited for Easter I love to eat ham and Addy has a cute new dress to wear!

And finally I am jealous that Luke gets to go to California with his mom. I want to go a vacation.

Holy Crap!

Yesterday was a nice sunny day outside! It was wonderful...a little chilly but still good. So of course since it was a nice day Lucas was playing outside. He was riding his scooter around and playing games. He was outside riding his scooter and all the sudden I here "DAD IT'S in my throat it's stuck in my throat" well lucas was sucking on a piece of hard candy and it got lodged in his throat. Shane picked him up and ran him into the house as fast as he could and asked me what to do. I panicked and said I DON'T KNOW. Well Shane hit Luke's chest and the candy came flying out. We all should around and hugged each other for what seemed like forever. I was shaking so bad I have never been so scared in my life. I was so glad he was okay and I told him please don't ever do that again and he laughed and said okay I won't. GEEZ.

I just wanted to tell everyone how happy I am. Addy slept through the night last night. It is a great day in parenthood when you sleep through the night, but I did wake up this morning thinking "is she still alive" and had to run in her room and check on her.
