In our home

This little cute smile is an everyday occurrence. I'm dying from the cuteness here folks! I think I forgot how absolutely wonderful it is having a baby in the house. Everyday people! Every. Single. Day.

My favorite chocolate chip cookies

It seems like everyone has their favorite chocolate cookie recipe. I have made so many different ones but lately this recipe seems to be the one I always go back to. Honestly I think I got this recipe off the side of a sugar bag or something. So who knew it would end up being my fave. It is the perfect amount of salty, sweet, crunchy, and chewy. I love it!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt*
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract*
2 eggs
1 package semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside. Combine brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla beat until creamy. Add eggs and beat. Add dry ingredients and mix well. stir in chocolate chips. Drop mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. bake 8-10 minutes.

*I add just a pinch more salt and I add an extra teaspoon of vanilla. I like vanilla and I love salt!!

Oh hey!

Remember back in January people made New Years resolutions.....Oh well I made some of those too. You know what one of mine was?? To blog on a regular basis. So far I fail. I promise to try harder.

Here are some updates!

Things are pretty good here at The Thornton household I suppose. Little Bea is growing so fast! On Monday this week she had her 2 month check up and she is 12 pounds! Woot! She has doubled her weight. Oh and I love double chins when they come in baby form! She is the sweetest little baby. She smiles a ton and she is just the perfect fit for our little family.

Addy is doing good too! She is so big somedays I think she looks like a four year old. She is learning and growing everyday and I have just loved being home with her these last couple of months. I am hoping to start her in preschool this year and I just know she will thrive!

I thought I was going to be staying home with the girls but it looks like we will be having a change of plans on that one. It will be hard but it is what is going to be best for our family. I am just grateful I have been able to spend these last couple of months with my girls full time.

There is not much else going on that I can think of. But don't worry the blogging will be more frequent I promise!

Oh and sorry there is no picture. The camera has been broken. I should work on that!
